Excited to serve as your interim Provost

Dear Colleagues,

I am excited about my new role as interim provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs and the opportunity to work with each of you in advancing our great University.

Throughout my career, I have often stepped into new roles when there was a need, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to do so again, in service of UNC Charlotte’s vision.

I am deeply invested in UNC Charlotte and its commitment to become an emerging top-tier research university through growing our creation of new knowledge, while also maintaining our longstanding commitment to advancing student access and social mobility.

As interim provost, I look forward to fostering a supportive, collaborative and inclusive academic environment for you, our faculty, staff and Academic Affairs leaders. Additionally, I will work cooperatively with other divisions within the University to deliver on our commitments to access and affordability, exemplary degree and professional programs, scholarship, innovation and civic engagement.

UNC Charlotte is an incredible university. And I know that together, we can and will support and build upon the work laid out in the strategic plan to make UNC Charlotte even better.
