Provost’s Award for Excellence in Student Success
The Provost’s Award for Excellence in Student Success is granted annually to an individual, advising center, academic department, program, or unit in recognition of maintaining an outstanding commitment to student success. The award is intended to recognize sustained efforts that assist students to achieve their educational and lifelong learning goals. The monetary award can be used at the discretion of the recipient for any purpose authorized for state appropriations. A permanent plaque is given each year to the recipient in recognition of the award.
AWARD CRITERIA
The Provost’s Award is given to an individual, center, department, program, or unit with a documented record of sustained accomplishment and commitment and/or innovative approach to student success.
NOMINATION AND AWARD PROCESS
Nominations to the Provost should consist of a letter from the Dean, Associate Dean, Chair/School Director, Program Director, or Associate Provost not to exceed three pages. The nomination may be accompanied by no more than ten pages of supporting documentation. The letter and supporting materials should address the following:
- What has this group or individual done to foster student success at UNC Charlotte?
- In what ways has this group or individual advanced the goals of the Division of Academic Affairs through their work?
- What have been the results/evidence of improved student success outcomes?
- What are the potential adaptations to other centers, departments, programs or units?
After receiving the nominations, the Provost will seek assistance as needed to evaluate the nominations. A final decision will then be made by the Provost who will notify the nominator and recipient.
The nomination period is now closed. Nominations were due on January 31, 2024.
